Helper Agreement
Community Helper Agreement
Version: 2026-08-07-testing-draft-1
Legal-review draft: This agreement applies to volunteer/community helper testing. It does not authorize professional-provider status or establish insurance.
1. Honest application
I will provide accurate contact, experience, service-area, and capability information and keep it reasonably current. I will not misrepresent training, licensing, insurance, professional status, equipment, identity, or availability.
2. Choice and safe refusal
I choose whether to become available and whether to respond to each request. I will review known conditions, ask needed questions, and decline or stop when a request is unlawful, unsafe, beyond my capability, beyond my equipment, or inconsistent with manufacturer guidance.
3. Conduct
I will act respectfully; follow applicable laws, closures, land rules, and owner instructions; avoid harassment, discrimination, threats, intoxicated operation, exploitation, or unsafe pressure; and respect a requester’s decision to decline or end assistance.
4. Recovery responsibility
I am responsible for my own vehicle, equipment, passengers, conduct, and decisions. I will not assume a displayed verification label guarantees another person’s identity, condition, honesty, or safety. I understand that off-road assistance and recovery can cause serious injury, death, or property damage.
5. Volunteer status
Community helper approval does not make me an employee, agent, franchisee, contractor, or representative of Trail Connector. It does not authorize me to make promises for Trail Connector. Unless a separate professional-provider program and agreement expressly apply, Trail Connector does not verify or provide commercial licensing, towing authority, or insurance coverage for my activity.
6. Privacy and incident information
I will use requester information and exact coordinates only to evaluate or carry out the accepted interaction, will not publicly expose a vulnerable person’s location or private communications, and will follow applicable recording and privacy laws.
7. Reports and review
I will cooperate honestly with reasonable safety reviews. Trail Connector may limit or suspend helper privileges while reviewing reports, expired information, unsafe conduct, or violations of this agreement.
8. Updates
A material change may require affirmative acceptance of a new version before helper functions remain available.
